Syfy is developing a limited series that will delve into the classic fantasy world of Peter Pan. Titled The League of Pan, the drama is based on a story by writer-producer Brian McCauley Johnson.

According to Syfy Wire, the series is a sequel to the original Peter Pan story, although it takes place in Los Angeles in the present day. The story picks up ten years after Wendy and the Lost Boys' original adventures in Neverland. When a new menace threatens the very existence of the island, they must return and confront the secrets and conflicts of their past.

Bill McGoldrick, President of Original Content for NBCUniversal, described The League of Pan "as an original take on the classic, setting the limited series in uncharted lands, making for new adventures and showcasing these characters like you’ve never seen them before.”

This will not be Syfy's first trip to Neverland. In 2011 the network aired Neverland, a limited series that served as a prequel to the classic tale. A live musical, Peter Pan Live!, aired on NBC in 2014, and the character appeared as a major villain on ABC's Once Upon a Time. A 2015 film directed by Joe Wright, Pan, also retold the origins of Peter Pan.

The news comes just as Syfy announced a straight-to-series-order for a Chucky TV series from Child's Play's creator Don Mancini.
