After months of delay, The New Mutants finally released to theaters on Aug. 28, garnering mostly mixed or negative reviews. As the world gears up for the film's home release, another set of concept art for the Demon Bear was unveiled.
Concept Artist Deryl Braun shared a carousel of images to his Instagram, each featuring a new take on the Demon Bear. The caption reads, "Another selection of the demon bear concept art i had a chance to contribute to #ironkladstudios for #marvel 's #thenewmutants. @marvelstudios @jfields217 thx." The carousel contains five different versions of the Demon Bear.
The New Mutants tells the story of Dani Moonstar aka Mirage as she encounters a group of mutant teens just like her. She quickly befriends Wolfsbane, with whom she shares a romantic relationship, and is on good terms with Cannonball and Sunspot. At first, her relationship with Magik is quite rocky, with Illyana playing the role of her bully. Towards the end of the film, the teens team up to take down Cecilia Reyes and the villainous Demon Bear.
Directed by Josh Boone, The New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage and Alice Braga as Dr. Cecilia Reyes. The film is in theaters in select cities now.
