Forget everything you thought you knew about Fox's The New Mutants, because the X-Men spinoff is reportedly set to undergo some pretty big changes. A new reports indicates the extensive reshoots planned for this summer will see another character added to the film's cast.
Initially announced for release in April, director Josh Boone's horror-tinged movie was moved last month amid an X-Men franchise reshuffling to February 2019. Although the reason for the move was never officially disclosed, it was reported The New Mutants would use the extra time to play up its horror elements.
However, The Hollywood Reporter now indicates the changes to the film will be even more significant, as a new character is expected to be added during reshoots, suggesting alterations to the plot of The New Mutants. Of course there's no word yet as to the identity of this new character.
Arriving Feb. 22, 2019, The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (Atlantis) as Magik, Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Cannonball, Blu Hunt (The Originals) as Dani Moonstar and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) as Sunspot.
