The New Mutants film finally opened after months of delays to a lackluster response, garnering relatively negative reviews from fans and critics alike. Now, the film is headed towards a home release --and it has some deleted scenes included.
One such scene involves Magik, the schoolyard bully-type in the film, butting heads with Wolfsbane and Mirage after finding the two girls in her room. SYFY WIRE posted the clip to their YouTube channel, which can be seen below.
In the film, Illyana has an attachment to her stuffed puppet named Lockheed (based on Kitty Pryde's famous companion in the comics). When Rahne and Danielle are in her room, Illyana walks in on them playing with her puppet --and she's not happy. She has another confrontation with Danielle specifically --an antagonistic relationship that exists throughout the film in many scenes.
The film is set for a home video release of Nov. 17.
Directed by Josh Boone, The New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage and Alice Braga as Dr. Cecilia Reyes. The film is in theaters in select cities now.
