"Iron Fist" is set to premiere its thirteen-episode first season on March 17, and ahead of a presumed second full-length trailer, Marvel took to the show's Facebook page to release a new batch of stills teasing the return of Netflix mainstays Claire Temple, played by actress Rosario Dawson, and Jeri Hogarth, played by Carrie-Anne Moss. These stills, which you can check out below, follow the release of two promotional photos of series star Finn Jones posing as the titular superhero.
While we got our first look at the Meachum siblings -- played by Jessica Stroup ("The Following") and Tom Pelphrey ("Banshee") -- in the first full-length trailer for the series, we get our best look yet at the siblings as they take a stance behind Danny in the above still. Although we don't have any actual context as to what is taking place here, it'd be easy to assume this scene will take place shortly after Danny's return to New York.
Given the relationship between Danny and Jeri Hogarth in the comics, it wasn't entirely surprising to learn that actress Carrie-Anne Moss, who made her Marvel debut in the first season of "Jessica Jones," would return for "Iron Fist." The actress has previously stated that her character will be "very involved" with the series, noting that Hogarth would "an extremely important role in Danny’s life."
One thing that the Netflix shows have done to separate themselves from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is to craft some of the best superhero fight scenes. "Iron Fist" looks to continue that trend.
Of course, as excited as fans are to see Danny Rand finally come to life on the small screen, he isn't the only hero being added to the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joining him for the ride is Jones' fellow "Game of Thrones" star, Jessica Henwick, who'll make her debut as the second half of the Daughters of the Dragon, Colleen Wing, before joining Jones in this summer's "The Defenders."
And presumingly working with Wing -- along with Danny, of course -- is none other than Claire Temple. Last seen in "Luke Cage," Temple took a number from a flyer Wing had posted, offering-up self-defence classes. While little is know regarding the scope of Dawson's role, we can at least expect to see Claire interact with both of our new heroes.
Marvel’s fourth Netflix drama -- following “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones” and “Luke Cage" -- “Iron Fist” centers on Daniel Rand, who, after being missing for years, returns to New York City to fight against its criminal element using his kung-fu mastery and his ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
Starring Finn Jones as Danny Rand, "Iron Fist" arrives on Netflix in 2017. The series also stars "Star Wars: The Force Awakens'" Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum and more.
