New Man of Steel Images Surface: He's 'More Relatable, More Human'

Just days after Total Film debuted its Man of Steel cover, scans of the magazine have emerged revealing new photos from the Zack Snyder-directed Superman reboot.

They're a mix of behind-the-scenes photos of Snyder and Henry Cavill, and stills, revealing Cavill in costume, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Kevin Costner and Cooper Timberline as Jonathan Kent and a young Clark.

Total Film has also previewed its cover story, teasing quotes from the director and star. “We’ve tried to make a Superman movie where he does stuff and you go, ‘Yeah, if I was Superman, that’s what I’d do,’” Snyder told the magazine. “Even though he’s an alien, he’s more relatable, more human.”

Cavill added, “This is a Superman for a modern age. It’s not betraying anything that Superman is, but it is grounding everything in reality. It’s the story of this incredible being who can do incredible things, but whom we can associate with. Because he’s gone through troubling stuff and had to make tough choices …”

Opening June 14, Man of Steel also stars Michael Shannon as General Zod, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Antje Traue as Faora, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick and Christopher Meloni as Col. Hardy.
