FX has released a brief -- and, very strange -- new promo for the upcoming X-Men-based TV series, "Legion."

Capturing the show's offbeat humor, the clip sees Dan Stevens' David Haller and Aubrey Plaza's Lenny stare dumbfounded at a fellow patient at their mental institution who doesn't seem...too responsive. Take a look for yourself, below.

Based on the character created for "The New Mutants," "Legion" follows Haller, a mutant suffering from schizophrenia, who begins to learn that the voices in his head may be real. The series will reportedly include characters from the greater X-Men universe that have yet to appear in the films.

Executive produced by "Fargo's" Noah Hawley, "X-Men's" Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg, and Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb, "Legion" premieres on FX in early 2017.
