New 'Legend of Hercules' Trailer Gets Lost in Love

Summit Entertainment gives you … Hercules!

The mythological hero is getting not one, but two movies in the coming year, and first up is The Legend of Hercules (formerly, Hercules: The Legend Begins), starring Twilight alum Kellan Lutz in the title role. Summit has released a new trailer for their Hercules offering, hitting theaters in about a month. On looks alone, the film appears to be angling toward the Twilight crowd, based on the trailer's emphasis of a love story between Hercules and a beautiful princess.

In fairness, the trailer showcases plenty of action as well, with the slow-motion moves of 300 and Immortals (also starring Lutz) on full display. As for Lutz himself? The man gets two lines of dialogue in the entire trailer (three if you count an epic grunt), the first of which isn't uttered until well over halfway into the trailer. Take that as you will.

Directed by Renny Harlin, The Legend of Hercules also stars Gaia Weiss, Scott Adkins, Roxanne McKee, Lian Garrigan, Liam McIntyre and Jonathon Schaech. It opens Jan. 10.
