Out of this weekend's WonderCon Anaheim rises a new clip for "Insidious: Chapter 3," in which rattled psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) warns young Quinn Brenner (Stefanie Scott) not to try to contact her dead mother on her own.

"You have to be very careful," Elise cautions. "If you call out to one of the dead, all of them can hear you."

It's probably safe to presume Quinn doesn't heed her advice. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much of a film, would there? Written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell, "Insidious: Chapter 3" is a prequel that focuses not on the Lambert family, but on a father and daughter who turn to the psychic for help with the supernatural.

Also starring Dermot Mulroney, the film opens June 5.

The newest chapter in the terrifying horror series is written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
