New Injustice 2 Story Trailer Declares 'The Lines are Redrawn'


Battle lines are drawn - and redrawn - in the newly-released Story Trailer for NetherRealm's anticipated "Injustice 2." The fighting game, which is slated for release in May, will once again pit DC Comics hero against hero, but this time, alliances will shift from the previous game.

The trailer recaps the defining events of the first game's story -- namely the murder of Lois Lane and her and Superman's unborn child at the hands of the Joker, and the Man of Steel's subsequent killing of the Clown Prince of Crime -- and then defines the world's current status quo. Superman is imprisoned, with Batman as his jailer. Meanwhile, the Dark Knight is supportive of actions he once opposed, and has found himself at violent odds with Robin. Supergirl and Wonder Woman are at each other's throats, and Brainiac is in the shadows, watching, pulling everyone's strings and, judging by the key art, directly influencing Kara Zor-El's actions.

Developed by NetherRealm for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the sequel to the hit 2013 video game “Injustice: Gods Among Us” continues the storyline, with Batman and his allies work toward putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. However, in the midst of that chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk.

“Injustice 2” features such playable characters as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Gorilla Grodd and Blue Beetle, with arenas in DC Universe locations like Gotham City, Metropolis and Atlantis.
