Dark Horse Comics has announced the release of an oversized hardcover titled "Lead Poisoning: The Pencil Art of Geof Darrow." The hardcover will include never-before seen pencils and commentary from Darrow, a three-time Eisner Award winner. Dark Horse will also release a new edition of "Hard Boiled" later this year, along with a new volume of "Shaolin Cowboy," both drawn by Darrow.
The 128-page, 9x12 hardcover collection will include a plethora of Darrow's pencils, providing insight into Darrow's process, and show the alterations and additions that happen between the pencil and ink phases. The book will also have commentary from Darrow and his peers to accompany the drawings.
“Geof Darrow is one of the most talented creators to ever work in comics,” Dark Horse Comics Publisher Mike Richardson said in an official statement. “In 2017 Dark Horse is proud to be celebrating over two decades of his amazing art with the release of 'Lead Poisoning,' along with a brand new edition of 'Hard Boiled,' the iconic graphic novel he created with comics legend Frank Miller.”
Speaking on Darrow, artist Frank Quitely said, “Geof Darrow is a master...His combination of technical ability and a genuinely individual voice is an inspiration for me and for generations of other artists across the world."
