Sony has released two new clips from "Goosebumps" -- their loose adaptation of the hit children's book series of the same name -- featuring Jack Black as the (rightfully) paranoid R.L. Stine, the real life author of the horror book series.

In the first clip, Black, as Stine, shares a scene with co-stars Dylan Minnette, Ryan Lee and Odeya Rush, as he tries to explain the supernatural ramifications of his works of fiction.

The second clip features Black, Minnette, Lee and Rush, as they try and outrun a ravaging werewolf through a grocery store. Lucky for them, Halston Sage has something up her sleeve.

Directed by "Monsters vs. Aliens" helmer Rob Letterman, "Goosebumps" comes from a script by "Jack the Giant Slayer's" Darren Lemke -- who also happens to be penning Warner Bros.' "Shazam!" movie -- with a story by "1408" scribes Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.

While you're busy being chilled by "Goosebumps," take a look at the hefty behind-the-scenes look at the movie below, featuring candid B-roll footage of the cast, crew -- and plenty of monsters!

Sony is reportedly already in the early stages of developing a "Goosebumps" sequel. Fans can find out if "Goosebumps" will be as well lived as its prose counterpart when it hits theaters October 16.
