Created by Jack Kirby during his tenure at DC in 1971, the New Gods are an extraterrestrial race who inhabit two worlds: the peaceful New Genesis, ruled by the wise Highfather, and the hellish Apokolips, ruled by the wicked Darkseid. Outside of their roles in the comics and the DC Extended Universe, the New Gods have appeared in other forms of media such as Superman: The Animated Series and Young Justice.
