The upcoming animated series based on A.P.N.G. Enterprises' Marvel-distributed comic book NEW-GEN has found its villain in former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins.

Per an official press release, Rollins will voice NEW-GEN's central antagonist, Deadalus, a twisted nanotech-scientist who has sworn revenge after being cast out of the futuristic utopia of NEW-GEN, where "human beings, alien creatures and mechanical life-forms peacefully co-exist." The sci-fi series follows twin brothers -- voiced by Finn Wolfhard and Nick Wolfhard, respectively -- who "live as ordinary teenagers and nanotech enhanced superheroes."

A legend in the world of punk rock, Rollins was the fourth and most prolific vocalist for Black Flag, serving as the band's frontman from 1981 up until its initial dissolution in 1986. After Black Flag broke up, Rollins went on to form Rollins Band, which was active from 1987 to 2006. In 1995, Rollins won the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for his memoir Get in the Van: On the Road with Black Flag.

Rollins has lent his award-winning voice to a number of animated productions over the years, perhaps most notably Nickelodeon's The Legend of Korra, voicing the character Zaheer in 13 episodes of the Avatar: The Last Airbender sequel series. More recently, Rollins has voiced the character of Tri-Klops in Netflix's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe sequel series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation. He has also worked on episodes of Batman Beyond, Teen Titans and Adventure Time, among other cartoons. As far as live-action acting goes, Rollins is known for his roles as A.J. Weston on FX's Sons of Anarchy and Jürgen Denke on Syfy's adaptation of Deadly Class.
