The first detailed look at Kumail Nanjiani's character in Eternals has been released.

The image comes courtesy of Empire, the latest issue of which features some details about the upcoming Marvel film. Though Nanjiani's Kingo has been seen in the trailer, only a brief glimpse of his costume appeared. And when the character showed up on last month's Empire magazine covers for the film, he was joined by some of his fellow heroes. Now, a full look at his costume is available. Check it out:

Interestingly, the scene behind Kingo seems a chaotic one, but the hero is smiling while sporting his purple and gold costume. In the recent Eternals trailer, we get to see Kingo's concussive energy beam powers in action as he fights off a Deviant, the villains of the film. Of course, director Chloé Zhao teased that the film won't be that cut and dry.

"I loved the idea of continuing to challenge the straight-forward morality we’re used to in the superhero genre," Zhao told the magazine.

Zhao has previously teased how much of her indie aesthetic she'll be bringing to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it seems she's keen to steer away from a traditional good versus evil story. Instead, she wants to bring more nuance and attempt something that hasn't been tried in the world of superheroes.

"It’s like sailing," Zhao said. "You don’t want to take a little journey around the harbor - you want to go out there into uncharted waters to see what you can find."

Star Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi, echoed the idea of the film being a complicated one, likening it to tales from mythology. "[Eternals is] akin to stories of Greek and Roman gods, who live very human lives with human traits, rivalries, jealousies and frailties," Chan said.

Zhao, the producers, and the stars have all teased an epic tale unlike anything seen so far in the MCU -- or elsewhere -- meaning Eternals certainly has a lot of hype to live up to. After all, it will be the first Marvel Studios film helmed by an Academy Award-winning director. And with its premiere right around the corner, audiences and critics will soon know if it measures up to expectations.

To see Kingo in all his glory, check out Eternals when it hits theaters Nov. 5.
