Telltale calls the series, "a fresh interpretation of the universe set in current times." "Batman - The Telltale Series" will not play off of current or previous runs of "Batman" comics, films, or television shows. The game will feature all new story lines that are completely unrelated to previous canon.

Each night, players will have the opportunity to "change Gotham City for the better." Players can chose to make decision as either Bruce Wayne or Batman, and each consequence will effect Gotham. Bruce will also have deeply personal relationships with certain characters, who will either go down the path of redemption or corruption.

The game will be rated M (17+), and will have R-rated like content. "Batman - The Telltale Series" will also feature the familiar characters of Alfred Pennyworth, Vicki Vale, James Gordon, and Renee Montoya, but Telltale will not release which villains will be in the series just yet.

"Batman - The Telltale Series" will be released during the summer of 2016.
