Daredevil is returning to the small screen with a new Disney+ series.

Variety reports that Matt Corman and Chris Ord have been tapped to write and executive produce the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. Corman and Ord are the creative minds behind shows like Covert Affairs, The Brave, and Containment. Representatives for the pair and for Marvel Studios have not yet commented on the story, so nothing official has been revealed. It's assumed that Charlie Cox will return to play Matt Murdock/Daredevil after his appearance as the lawyer in last year's Spider-Man: No Way Home, but no further casting or character details have been revealed.

In 2021, Cox was first rumored to be returning as Daredevil, officially entering the MCU as the Marvel-Netflix shows were widely considered outside of canon. Multiple rumors have even pointed to Daredevil appearing on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law given both characters spend their days working as lawyers. Though She-Hulk's recent trailer debut revealed it's right around the corner, it hasn't been confirmed if Cox will appear. But both No Way Home and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed Cox is Daredevil in the MCU.

Since then, rumors have continued to swirl about when the Man Without Fear might make his full-fledged return. In March, rumors of a Daredevil reboot at Disney+ first emerged thanks to a production listing. Variety's scoop adds a good deal of legitimacy to that earlier report. Of course, fans might not have to wait for the new series, even if Cox doesn't show up on She-Hulk.

Daredevil has long been rumored to appear on Echo thanks to his comic book connection to Maya Lopez. April brought a report that both Matt Murdock and Kingpin will appear on Echo, though that hasn't yet been confirmed, as with the other rumors and reports. At this point, it seems safe to assume Cox will be suiting up again before long, but the bigger question for fans might be whether the new show picks up where Season 3 of Daredevil ended.

The return of Cox in Spider-Man 3 and Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin on Hawkeye has made it seem like Daredevil is MCU canon. But nothing within the MCU has supported that claim so far, and the powers that be have danced around the issue. But if a new Daredevil show is on the horizon, Marvel Studios will have to confirm or deny it eventually.
