With Marvel Studios going for somewhat comics-accurate looks for their characters on the big and small screens -- sans Inhumans -- fans have come to expect the likes of Captain America and Spider-Man to have more faithful costumes when transitioning to the live-action format. The upcoming Captain Marvel is no exception, and a new photo shows that Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) will sport her famed mohawk in the film in addition to her iconic blue and red uniform.

In an article from USA Today discussing some of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2019, Captain Marvel was listed as number one. In addition to Larson discussing the character, fans are also treated to a photo from the movie of Carol wearing a standard Kree military uniform, with her helmet shaping her hair into a mohawk.

In the comics, when Carol Danvers dons her helmet -- which doesn't happen very often -- it transforms her hair into a mohawk. The look has also transitioned into other media, such as Avengers: Secret Wars.

As Marvel tends to embrace many aspects of the original comics for the movies, this once again shows the studio's dedication to being true to the source material. And while Carol obviously won't have the style throughout the film, fans of the Female Fury will at least get to see the icon hairdo in all its live-action glory.
