A new Attack on Titan mobile game is in development from GameSamba, NGames Interactive Limited and Funimation Entertainment. It's targeted for release in all major English markets by the end of the year iOS and Android devices.

Few details have been revealed, but it's described as an "action-driven title" that merges elements of runner and action games in an effort to replicate the feeling of titan battles from the blockbuster anime series.

According to the announcement, "Players will need to use careful planning – and quick reactions – to survive. There will also be deeper, persistent elements to the game, which will be revealed at a later date."

“We’re very excited to work with NGames and GameSamba to create a game based on the wildly popular Attack on Titan franchise,” Gen Fukunaga, CEO of Funimation Entertainment, said in a statement. “With more than 50 million copies of the manga in print, a 25-episode anime series, and last year’s live-action films, we’re excited to show fans what we can do with a game.”

Attack on Titan is only the latest title announced as part of the newly formed strategic partnership between GameSama, NGames Interactive and Funimation. Licensed mobile games based on the anime Fairy Tail and Tokyo Ghoul, as well as a Fairy Tail web game, are also set for release this year.
