After the shocking events of last month's "Arrow" midseason finale "The Climb," fans have been holding their collective breaths to find out whether Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) made it out of his confrontation with R'as al Ghul alive. The CW has just released a new promo for the midseason premiere, entitled "Left Behind," which aside from Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) telling Queen's allies of his demise, doesn't offer much in the way of concrete evidence about the lead's status.

"Arrow" Recap: "The Climb"

Whether or not it's Amell, the promo features an archer -- one that could be Queen, Merlyn, or perhaps Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) stepping up in the Arrow's absence as Arsenal.

The trailer also provides the first glimpses of Vinnie Jones, who joins the series as DC Comics villain Brick.

Amell: "Arrow" Is "Bigger Than Any One Character"

Star Stephen Amell fueled rumors of Queen's death saying on Twitter, "It was a good run," and claiming that "Arrow" is "bigger than any one character following the finale. He later teased that the archer may in fact be dead, but could return via the use of a Lazarus Pit -- something Ra's al Ghul has done countless times in the DC Comics the series is based on.

The "Arrow" midseason premiere, "Left Behind," airs Jan. 21 on The CW.
