Details have been announced for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering mobile game Magic: ManaStrike.
Developed by the Netmarble Monster studio, the game will feature fan-favorite characters like Chandra Nalaar and Jace Beleren, among many others. Magic: ManaStrike will be Netmarble's first game for the Wizards of the Coast franchise.
"We were drawn by Netmarble's reputation as a global leader in mobile games and its known passion for putting a unique twist on the genre," Wizards of the Coast VP, Business Development & Strategy Eugene Evans said in a statement. "As a new Magic-inspired experience, Magic: ManaStrike is an action-packed way to discover the Magic multiverse, and we can't wait to welcome new players to the community."
The game will allow players to experience the world of Magic: The Gathering through Player vs. Player matches in high-quality 3D. Players will begin by choosing a pre-made deck of cards from one of the game's colors: white, blue, black, red and green. Once a deck has been chosen, the player will battle against other live opponents, and they'll also be able to unlock new cards and enhancements as they progress through the game.
"More details on Magic: ManaStrike will be shared soon," Netmarble Chief Global Officer Seungwon Lee added. "We want to assure fans our game acts as a fresh new addition to Magic: The Gathering, and we are eager to introduce what makes Magic: The Gathering special to even more players."
Further details and a gameplay first-look at Magic: ManaStrike are currently scheduled to be released at the G-Star tradeshow in Busan, South Korea, which will be taking place from Nov. 14-17.
