Netflix's Vikings: Valhalla, the upcoming spinoff to the widely successful Vikings series, got its first trailer at the TUDUM event, revealing its cast and the legendary Scandinavian figures they play.

The clip offered a first look at Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, Harald Hardrada, played by Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson and Leo Suter, respectively. The series is set a century after the original series and will explore the end of the historical era known as the Viking Age.

Vikings: Valhall was announced in 2019. While the 24-episode sequel series marks a transition from network to streaming service, the creative team behind the original series is also attached. That includes creator Michael Hirst, who will also serve as executive producer alongside Morgan O'Sullivan, who was also EP on the original series.

Vikings premiered in 2013 and originally followed the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok. The series then shifted focus to the tale of his sons and the legacy Ragnar left behind. After six seasons, the show came to an end in March this year, with the final season being released on Amazon Prime Video. Despite the temporal distance between the original series and Valhalla, the Netflix show will feature at least one familiar face: the Seer, played by John Kavanagh.
