Production has officially started on Season 2 of the dark British comedy series The End of the F***ing World.
This was confirmed by the show's official Twitter account posting an image of the script for the second season premiere. It's a vague visual, but we do know it'll be written once more by creator Charlie Covell. And with Jessica Barden's name layered over the script, it may well be an episode focused on her character, the foul-mouthed rebel known as Alyssa.
A sequel was announced last August after the show won over fans on UK's Channel 4, as well as when it eventually premiered on Netflix in other markets. The show is based on Charles Forsman's comic book, which revolves around Alyssa and the love of her life James (played by Black Mirror's Alex Lawther), a self-proclaimed psychopath, as they both run away from their small town in a coming-of-age journey.
The show's first season ended pretty much where the comic concluded, with James seemingly shot by cops who assumed he kidnapped Alyssa, which means these upcoming episodes will be treading new waters in the lives of these disenfranchised teenagers. While no extra casting information has been announced, Season 2 will once again air first on UK's Channel 4 before premiering on Netflix, although this premiere date is also yet to be revealed.
Season 2 will be produced by Clerkenwell Films and Dominic Buchanan Productions, with Murray Ferguson, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker, Dominic Buchanan, and Jonathan Entwistle serving as executive producers.
The End of the F***ing World Season 1 is available to stream now on Netflix.
