"Six Feet Under" and "Dexter" veteran Scott Buck will serve as showrunner on Netflix's "Iron Fist."

Heroic Hollywood and ComicBook.com first broke the news. CBR has confirmed their reports with Marvel Television.

Here's how Marvel describes the series: "Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist."

Buck's hiring is a sure sign that "Iron Fist" is moving forward, seemingly bringing to an end recent rumors that Netflix and Marvel had abandoned plans for a series focusing on Danny Rand. (Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and Head of Television Jeph Loeb both dismissed such rumors last month.)

No timeline for "Iron Fist" has been announced, however. "Jessica Jones" only recently debuted on Netflix, while "Luke Cage" is now in production. With 'Daredevil's" second season already planned, it seems likely "Iron Fist" won't premiere until at least 2017.
