Director/producer Zack Snyder and Netflix now have a two-year, first-look deal with his filmmaking banner, The Stone Quarry.

Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter, "My goal and hope are to bring as much quality content as I can and do it on a giant scale. Big projects and big movies." The first thing The Stone Quarry is bringing to Netflix as part of the deal is Rebel Moon, a project Snyder originally conceived of a decade ago as a Star Wars film.

Snyder already has a relationship with Netflix, as he directed and produced the sci-fi horror film Army of the Dead, which quickly became one of the streamer's top 10 most-watched films. Snyder is also developing the anime spinoff Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas and a prequel, Army of Thieves.

The Stone Quarry Productions is run by Snyder, his producing partner and wife, Deborah Snyder, and executive Wesley Coller.

"For us, it was so important to find a partnership that was based on mutual respect," Deborah Snyder said. "The creative process works best when everybody trusts each other and you can take chances and be creative. For us, we don't usually play it safe. The content we make is a little bit edgier. And I think it's important to have a good partnership and hear each other. And Netflix has given us a lot of freedom. But they've also embraced the idea of trying new things and not necessarily waiting for a success before moving ahead."
