UPDATE (6:58pm ET): An individual with knowledge of the situation has informed CBR that the rumored release date below is incorrect. Stay tuned as further details are revealed surrounding The Punisher's release.
ORIGINAL STORY: Although Netflix has released plenty of photos, promo videos and trailers for Marvel's The Punisher, the streaming service at least one thing close to its (Kevlar) vest: the drama's premiere date, even going so far as to "censor" the information in some publicity materials. However, the new issue of Total Film magazine may have revealed that long-sought details.
A Reddit user has posted a scan from the November issue that lists The Punisher's premiere as Oct. 13. However, there's no confirmation from either Netflix or Marvel Television.
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld.
The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Farah Madani, and Paul Schulze as Rawlins, with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in an undisclosed role. The series is slated to debut on Netflix this year.
