Jessica Jones once lived as the superhero Jewel, but a traumatic experience with a mid-controlling villain caused her to give a new spin to her career and become a private detective, starting Alias Investigations, in New York City. She is probably best known from the Netflix show named after her starring Krysten Ritter in the title role.

Many fans of the show and comics like to dress as the character, which makes sense, given that a crime-solving detective is as close to a real-life superhero you can get. Those fans absolutely love to share their spin on Jessica Jones.

10 Crouching Jessica Jones Cosplay

When you are a private investigator, you need to know two things: how to get the right angle for your photos and how to use anything for a hiding space. Being able to latch onto a random street pipe can easily help you accomplish both goals.

9 Yellow Drew Jessica Jones Cosplay

In one of the show's sequences, Jessica daydreams of running away on a white horse while wearing a yellow dress. As yellow is often seen as the opposite of the color purple, it likely represents an escape from the villainous Kilgrave, the Purple Man.

Instagram user emmspritecosplay shared this photo, adding the quote, ”I didn’t jump because I wasn’t fast enough. Getting you out of my head was like prying fungus from a window. I couldn’t think.” She adds that she made the dress herself and a friend named Vic was credited as the photographer.

This Jessica Jones cosplayer decided to keep her enemies close, taking a photo alongside another cosplayer dressed as her nemesis, Kilgrave. Read carefully and you'll see he whispered his evil plan in Jones' ear: "Psst ... I postponed WonderCon." Clearly, the Purple Man mustn't be underestimated.

Instagram user lustquinzel shared the photo, adding the quote, "You shoot at me, I’ll pull the bullet out of my ruined jacket and shove it up your ass with my pinky finger, and who do you think that’s gonna hurt more?" A special credit is given to therealkrystenritter with photography credits going to spbphotoshoots.

6 Day Drinking Jessica Jones Cosplay

We all have our vices and Jessica tends to spend quite a bit of money on alcohol, almost using empty bottles as decorations, and seems to use it as self-medication for the trauma she's endured in the past. Eventually, she seems to switch her addiction to Red Bulls.

But this cosplayer seemed to base this photo during the time before Jones switched to that drink that gives you wings, even asking, "Would you put day drinking under experience or special abilities?" Instagram user margaeryi shared the photo on her account and fellow user tom_juky is credited with taking the photo.

5 Defenders Jessica Jones Cosplay

One of the best parts of superheroes is seeing them team up; you can never have too many teammates. In this photo, Jessica Jones can be standing alongside Ironfist and Luke Cage, while Daredevil is on one knee in the foreground. As fans might remember, the four teamed up together in Netflix's The Defenders.

Instagram user the_lawless_gentleman, the cosplayer dressed as Daredevil, shared the photo, crediting it.is.cosplay for the photography. Iron Fist is dannycarmelo, Luke Cage is cagednerd, and Jessica Jones is samanthas_cosplay.

Some cosplayers really like to do their research when it comes to their craft. As Instagram user delicateabyss wrote alongside her photo, “The entire room is awash in purple, a color meant to symbolize him and his intrusions on her memory,” referencing the show's camera tricks during flashbacks. As can be seen in the photo, Jessica is covered in purple shades, reflecting off her black hair and coat. Matheus Machado Fotografia is credited for taking the photo for the Brazilian Comic-Con Experience in 2019.

2 Jessica Jones Meets the TARDIS Cosplay

Now, some fans like to get creative with their favorite comic book characters, like having them meet characters from other universes. In this photo, a Jessica Jones cosplayer finds herself meeting up with the Doctor Who universe by encountering the TARDIS. Jessica Jones actually has a deeper connection to the series: Doctor Who actor David Tennant played the villain Kilgrave on her show.

Instagram user delicateabyss, mentioned above, also shared this piece, in which "Jones" was still visiting the 2019 Brazilian Comic-Con Experience. Now, all she has to do is find the Doctor...

1 Main Street Photo

A private detective needs to have her weapons on hand and there's nothing better at getting evidence than a camera...you can catch the bad guys in the act. Instagram user samanthas_cosplay shared this photo of a Jessica Jones cosplayer in a piece called "Main Street. Birch Street. Higgins Drive. Cobalt Lane." Instagram user it.is.cosplay is credited with taking the photo. The cosplayer honestly looks like Krysten Ritter's long-lost twin sister. The only reason we don't suspect that it really Ritter in the photo is the #cosplaylookalike and #doppleganger hashtags.
