The video is also accompanied by a message that reads "the devil made us do it. 😈 #lucifer will return for a sixth and final season. like, FINAL final."

This is in reference to the series living beyond its initial end. Lucifer aired for three seasons on Fox before it was canceled. However, Netflix revived Lucifer and brought the series back for a fourth season. Then, the streaming service announced the show would come back for a fifth and final season. However, talks with star Tom Ellis later took place, and that allowed Lucifer to survive cancellation once more to return for yet another final season.

This announcement comes just a day after Netflix announced that Season 5 would premiere on the streaming service on August 21.

Helmed by Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, Lucifer Season 4 stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. Season 5 will premiere August 21 on Netflix.
