Season 5B of Lucifer is now on Netflix, and to celebrate, the streamer released the opening scene from the premiere episode online for all to enjoy.The scene features Lucifer, Michael and Amenadiel coming face-to-face with God himself. Upon God's arrival, Michael quickly throws his brothers under the bus, but God isn't interested in playing the blame game -- he just wants his sons to get along. Based on the Vertigo/DC character of the same name created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for the Sandman universe, Lucifer originally premiered on Fox in 2016 and was canceled after three seasons. Netflix revived Lucifer for Season 4 and subsequently renewed it for Season 5. However, unlike past seasons, Season 5 of Lucifer was split into two parts, with 5A debuting in August 2020. The show was also renewed for a sixth and final season, which wrapped production in March and prompted #ThankYouLucifer to trend on social media.

Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. Season 5B is now on Netflix.
