A new trailer reveals Volume 2 of Netflix's adult animation anthology Love Death + Robots will premiere on May 14, with Volume 3 in the works for a 2022 release.

The trailer showcases Love Death + Robots' variety of animation styles, from hyper-realistic CGI to 2D art reminiscent of Volume 1's stand-out episode "Zima Blue" to a stop-motion-style Christmas special. The new shorts also match Volume 1's variety of stories and tones, with dramatic scenes such as a woman in a hospital next to action-packed spaceship battles and comedic scenes of a robot picking up dog poop.

Volume 2 will consist of eight short films, with Volume 3 being the same length. The individual cast and crew for these shorts have yet to be announced, though based on the scene one minute and 18 seconds into the trailer, it appears that Michael B. Jordan will star in one of them.

Love Death + Robots was created by Deadpool director Tim Miller and executive produced by David Fincher. Volume 1 was released in 2019 and consisted of 18 short films, 16 of which were based on pre-existing science fiction short stories. The series won four Annie Awards and two Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Short-Form Animated Program for the episode "The Witness." Jennifer Yuh Nelson, director of the second and third King Fu Panda films, joined the team as supervising director for all episodes of Volume 2.

Love Death + Robots Vol. 2 releases on Netflix May 14. Vol. 3 will be released in 2022.
