Netflix has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming second season of Lost in Space, and the focus appears to be Will Robinson searching for the Robinson family's missing robot.

The trailer shows a forlorn Will lamenting the loss of his one-time mechanical friend, but seemingly discovering the means to locate him. The finale of the trailer shows the robot stranded on an unknown planet, but apparently intact and fully functional.

Things didn't look so good for the robot near the end of last season. The robot had been under the sole command of the ever-nefarious Doctor Smith, but broke from his programming to rescue Will in the season finale.

In that final episode, the robot sacrificed himself to save Will from a similar robot trying to kill him. Both robots were sucked out into space, and shortly thereafter the Jupiter 2 was catapulted across the galaxy by alien technology. Now truly lost in space, the possibility of the Robinsons ever seeing the robot again looked pretty slim.
