A new trailer for the third season of the Netflix animated series The Last Kids on Earth has been released. Along with the announcement comes news that the animated adaptation of Max Brallier's New York Times’ best-selling book series will debut on the streaming service Friday, Oct. 16.

Book 3: The Nightmare King is inspired by the third book in the acclaimed series, and features the return of a star-studded cast including Catherine O'Hara, Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Bruce Campbell and Nick Wolfhard (brother of Stranger Things Finn Wolfhard), who voices the main character, 13-year-old Jack Sullivan.

The Last Kids on Earth follows 13-year-old Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-outtree house, play video games,gorge themselves on candy, and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. It's a hilarious series filled with wisecracking kids, crazy gadgets, a lifetime supply of zombies and giant-sized monsters

Developed by Atomic Cartoons, The Last Kids on Earth is executive produced by Scott Peterson, Max Brallier, Jennifer McCarron and Matthew Berkowitz. It stars Nick Wolfhard (Jack Sullivan), Garland Whitt (Quint Baker), Montse Hernandez (June Del Toro), Charles Demers (Dirk Savage), Catherine O’Hara (Skaelka), Bruce Campbell (Chef Monster), Mark Hamill (Bardle) and Rosario Dawson (Rezzoch). Season 3 premieres Friday, Oct. 16 on Netflix.
