Netflix is adapting the best-selling book series The Last Kids on Earth by Max Brallier, and some huge names have been added to the voice cast.

The upcoming animated fantasy series features genre favorites like Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson and Bruce Campbell, as well as some other top Hollywood names like Catherine O'Hara and Keith David, Deadline reports. Nick Wolfhard will take on the role of the lead character Jack Sullivan.

There have been four books in The Last Kids on Earth series, with the fifth on the way in September, titled The Last Kids on Earth and the Midnight Blade. The books' target audience is the pre-teen middle school demographic.

The storyline follows Jack Sullivan, a 13-year-old foster child who leads his middle school friends in a war against monsters following the zombie apocalypse. The books contain plenty of humor, as well as crazy gadgets only kids could come up with, and a plethora of giant monsters and zombies to fight.

Unlike popular animated Netflix fantasy series such as Trollhunters, The Last Kids on Earth is closer to camp comedy for kids and less the horrors of battling monsters. If the Netflix series follows the books, expect more in the way of Captain Underpants and less the style of Trollhunters.

Netflix ordered The Last Kids on Earth to series in February 2018.
