With the Netflix's Marvel partnership signalling it's coming to an end, reports suggest the streaming service is ramping up production on its Millarworld properties, with Jupiter's Legacy at the forefront. Word has emerged that Pablo Schreiber (Orange is the New Black, The Wire) is being tapped to lead the show, along with Eric Bana (Hulk, Troy).

According to That Hashtag Show, Bana and Schreiber are being lined up to play brothers Sheldon and Walter Sampson, two of those first generation superheroes in the '30s known as the Utopian and Brainwave. In Mark Millar's book, they founded the superhero team known as the Union of Justice, and decades later the virtuous Sheldon would be betrayed by Walter and his son, Brandon, who both decide to take over the world.

With showrunner and writer Steven DeKnight (Daredevil) on board, it's believed Netflix is eying an April 2019 start for production, with Season 1 said to consist of eight one-hour episodes. The show will switch between the past and present to fully detail the Sampson family dynamic, with Morena Baccarin and Carrie Coon both said to be up for the role of Grace, Sheldon's wife. Their superpowered daughter, Chloe, also in the process of being cast, as she's integral to the plot and opposing her war-loving brother.
