Jason Momoa has a pair of horns in new photos from Netflix's upcoming fantasy adventure film, Slumberland.

Netflix posted the images to Twitter along with a caption reading, "No, you’re not dreaming -- that’s Jason Momoa with a full set of horns." A loose adaptation of the Little Nemo in Slumberland comics, the film stars Marlow Barkley as a young girl who, according to Netflix's official synopsis, travels through the "secret dreamworld" of Slumberland with the help of an "eccentric outlaw" played by Momoa.

Created by Winsor McCay, the Little Nemo character first appeared in McCay's comic strip Dream of the Rarebit Fiend before starring in his own comic, Little Nemo in Slumberland, starting in 1905. The latter comic followed young Nemo on his adventures in Slumberland and beyond, bringing him face to face with characters like the cigar-chomping rascal Flip, along with the dreamworld's King Morpheus and Princess. Known for its experimental and often surreal visual style, the Little Nemo in Slumberland comic strip was published until 1927. It was later turned into a Japanese-American animated film titled Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, released in 1989.

Slumberland is being directed by Francis Lawrence from a script by David Guion and Michael Handelman. Lawrence's previous credits include the 2005 Constantine film starring Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, along with all but the first movie in The Hunger Games quartet. Lawrence is also attached to helm The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games prequel novel about the young, ruthless Coriolanus Snow and his eventual rise to power as the President of Panem.

In addition to playing Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones and Conan in 2011's Conan the Barbarian movie, Momoa is known for portraying Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the character's solo film, along with both Zack Snyder's Justice League and the movie's theatrical cut. Momoa will reprise his DC superhero role in the upcoming Aquaman 2, along with playing Duncan Idaho in the new film version of Dune releasing later this year.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, Slumberland stars Jason Momoa, Marlow Barkley, India de Beaufort, Weruche Opia, Kyle Chandler and Chris O'Dowd. It premieres on Netflix in 2022.
