Created by Steve Niles, this macabre comic series revolves around the Allans, a peculiar family pushing against dark, opposing forces. The clan consists of husband and wife Fred and Deloris alongside their children Vivian and Geoff, who are described as a retired monster hunter, a thrill-killer, a witch and a warlock, respectively.

According to Variety, the plot of the new Netflix series will be that of the monster-hunting couple returning to their hometown in upstate New York with their children following the death of Fred's father. However, even as they try to adjust to their new lives, they quickly discover that they aren't out of the woods yet, and that their deceptively peaceful town is hiding its fair share of dark secrets.

Damian Kindler (Krypton, Sanctuary) will serve as The October Faction's executive producer and showrunner at Netflix. Moreover, he is set to direct the series alongside Director X, Megan Follows and David Frazee. October Faction comic creator Niles will executive produce alongside James Thorpe, Thomas Walden, Eric Birnberg, George Strayton and Melissa Blake. Meanwhile, John Calvert and Mohamed El Masri will produce.
