Netflix is returning to the world of Godzilla with a new anime series: Singular Point.

The series will feature a brand new cast and an original story. Atsushi Takahashi (Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi) will head the series with producing partners Bones (My Hero Academia) and Orange (Beastars, Land of the Lustrous). It will combine hand-drawn and CG animation styles and debut worldwide in 2021.

Netflix commemorated the announcement with a Kaiju design by series animator Eiji Yamamori and new character sketches by designer Kazue Kato. Kan Sawada will serve as composer while Toh Enjoe will make his TV debut as editor and writer.

Singular Point will be Netflix's latest dive into the Godzilla universe. The streamer released the feature film Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters in January 2018. It was followed by Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater, each of which also released in 2018. Those looking to watch the classic Godzilla films can find them on HBO Max.

The Kaiju can be seen next on the big screen in 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong, where he will face off against King Kong.

Directed by Atsushi Takahashi and written by Toh Enjoe, Godzilla Singular Point will premiere in 2021.
