Netflix announced that it will be implementing several new mobile games into its subscription service, with two titles dedicated to Stranger Things.

Netflix Games seeks to provide subscribers with even more content, accessible through their mobile devices. Announced via a press release, the initiative's experimental run in Poland is now expanding worldwide and will include five games: Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast and Teeter Up. All of these titles will be accessible to every subscriber, without ads, for no extra payment.

"We love games, whether it's physical games (Floor Is Lava), mind games (The Circle) or Squid Game. And we love entertaining our members. That’s why we’re excited to take our first step in launching Netflix games on mobile to the world," writes Mike Verdu, Netflix's Vice President of Game Development. "Whether you’re craving a casual game you can start from scratch or an immersive experience that lets you dig deeper into your favorite stories, we want to begin to build a library of games that offers something for everyone. We’re in the early days of creating a great gaming experience, and we’re excited to take you on this journey with us."

Netflix also offered a brief breakdown of how the Games service will work. Members will be able to play games on multiple devices on the same account and Netflix reassures subscribers that the titles will not be available on children's profiles. Some games will require an online connection while others can simply be enjoyed offline.

"Just like our series, films and specials, we want to design games for any level of play and every kind of player, whether you’re a beginner or a lifelong gamer. And we’re just getting started. We’re excited to continue improving our mobile gaming experience and adding to our entertainment offering in the months ahead," concludes Verdu.

Netflix is currently hard at work breaking into the mobile gaming industry. Beyond the services' soft launch in Poland, the streaming service is also in the process of acquiring developers to create exclusive games. Its most recent partnership is with Night School Studios, notable for developing the Oxenfree series. There's currently no word on what games will be added to Netflix next.
