Netflix has released a new teaser for its upcoming anime series, Godzilla Singular Point.
The trailer focuses mostly on the human characters in the series, with the titular kaiju conspicuously missing. However, it also provides a brief first look of Jet Jaguar in action.
The series will feature a brand new cast and an original story. Atsushi Takahashi (Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi) will head the series with producing partners Bones (My Hero Academia) and Orange (Beastars, Land of the Lustrous). It will combine hand-drawn and CG animation styles and debut worldwide in 2021.
Singular Point will be Netflix's latest dive into the Godzilla universe. The streamer released the feature film Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters in January 2018. It was followed by Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater, each of which also released in 2018. Those looking to watch the classic Godzilla films can find them on HBO Max.
Directed by Atsushi Takahashi and written by Toh Enjoe, Godzilla Singular Point will premiere in April 2021.
