One of the Netflix Daredevil series' showrunners just confirmed how passionately he's shipping an ongoing romance between Matt Murdock and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's Jennifer Walters.

Steven S. DeKnight, who oversaw Daredevil Season 1, threw his full support behind the Murdock/Walters pairing in a recent tweet. "I could not ship Matt Murdoch [sic] and Jennifer Walters any harder if I tried," DeKnight wrote, before praising actor Charlie Cox's "charming" performance as the Man Without Fear and his civilian alter-ego in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 8, "Ribbit and Rip It." The former Daredevil showrunner also praised the She-Hulk creative team for building on the foundation laid by the Netflix series, saying he "[l]oved every minute" of the episode.

"Ribbit and Rip It" marks the first encounter between Tatiana Maslany's Walters and Cox's Murdock, and the pair ultimately sleep together after teaming up as their superhero personas. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law creator and head writer Jessica Gao recently revealed that the decision to have Daredevil and She-Hulk hook up was reached early in the writing process. "In the writer's room, when we were breaking the episode, we were all just really excited at the idea that they would hook up," she said. "He just seemed like the right dude for her. It was like, 'OK, no matter what we do, all roads should lead to them hooking up.'"

Charlie Cox's Flirty Return as Daredevil

Gao also touched on the playful dynamic between Jen and Matt in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 8, something that Cox previously noted might come as a surprise to fans of the Netflix Daredevil series. Cox explained that he adjusted his portrayal of Matt Murdock to suit the lighter tone of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, resulting in a version of the character who is "a bit cheeky and a bit flirty." The English actor went on to label his performance in the show as "an experiment" and described filming his scenes as "really enjoyable."
