Starring 13 Reasons Why actor Katherine Langford, Cursed re-imagined the Arthurian legend as told through the eyes of a young woman named Nimue (Langford), who is eventually revealed to be the Lady of the Lake.

The 10-episode first season of Cursed was released on July 17, 2020, and also starred Devon Terrell as Arthur, Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin, Daniel Sharman as Lancelot, Sebastian Armesto as King Uther, Lily Newmark as Pym, Peter Mullan as Father Carden, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Morgana, Bella Dayne as Red Spear, Matt Stokoe as Gawain and Emily Coates as Sister Iris.

"There’s not really a lot of acting required…When you see what Frank [Miller] drew, it does tell an enormous amount of story for you," actor Sharman, who portrayed the Weeping Monk in Season 1, told CBR after Season 1 dropped on Netflix. "So, one of the biggest pleasures of it is that sometimes I just have to get out of the way. Just allow that to tell the story. It's quite nice to learn to not do as much learn to be efficient. You can let the imagery do a lot of the work."

Sharman joked that "it's definitely a challenge," adding, "I feel like you’ve got people doing really hard work whereas I just come in, look ominous, kill some people and then I leave."

Season 1 of Cursed ended with Nimue being betrayed and killed by Sister Iris after attempting to save the Fey from threats that included the Church, Uther Pendragon and the Ice King, Cumber.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, Cursed stars Katherine Langford, Devon Terrell, Gustaf Skarsgård, Peter Mullan, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Daniel Sharman, Sebastian Armesto, Ella Prebble, Scarlett Rock and Daniella Gad. Season 1 is streaming now on Netflix now.
