Out for a month now, Castlevania Season 3 has continued to thrill audiences on Netflix with its animated adaptation of the iconic video game franchise. In a new promo video shared by Netflix, the five biggest nods to the video game franchise are revealed.RELATED: Castlevania: Warren Ellis and Kevin Kolde on Returning for Season 3

The first involves Carmilla's coven of vampires, with her most trusted associates wearing rings inspired by her mask when she was confronted in 1987's Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. The second has the shopkeeper that Isaac speaks with polishing the Stone Mask introduced in 2005's Castlevania: Curse of Darkness -- especially noteworthy as the video game first introduced Isaac and Hector into the franchise.

Among the items on Alucard's bookshelves is the Agunea, a weapon that had appeared in 1997's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night which saw the heir to Dracula in a solo starring role. Similarly, the mass of possessed people that confronted Isaac near the end of Season 3 was inspired by the Legion, a mass of corpses that fought Alucard in Symphony of the Night. Finally, the wizard's stronghold entered by Isaac contains many items from the franchise, including Symphony of the Night, Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness.

Shortly after its season premiere, Castlevania was renewed for a fourth season by Netflix, promising new adventures for its cast as they continue to battle vampires and other monsters across Europe.
