Netflix's Castlevania was a surprise hit for both anime and gaming fans. The animated series told the dramatic tale of Dracula's campaign against all humans and the three adventurers dedicated to stopping him. With such high stakes, the series included plenty of epic fight scenes to perfectly capture the tension.

These fight scenes were phenomenal. You wouldn't initially think a cartoon could capture the elegant combat of Alucard or the bold strikes of Trevor Belmont, but Netflix's Castlevania succeeded. Read on if you want to know which fight scenes were the best of this amazing series.

10 Trevor's Pub Punch-Out

Drunk Trevor Castlevania

Certainly not the best example of Trevor Belmont's fighting skills, his altercation in the pub did, however, tease the possibility of his talents. The reveal of his family heritage was exciting to see. And even though he was in his cups and basically got beat by villagers, it nevertheless set the foundation for our later excitement. The more pitiful the first fight scene, the more epic eventual battles will appear to be. Plus, you've got to admit that Trevor beat his opponents with witty quips.

9 Sypha And Trevor Fighting In The Streets Of Gresit

Sypha Belnades is not an all-out brawler like Trevor, but she is still immensely powerful. And while she did not do most one-on-one fights in the first season of Castlevania, her actions during the demons assault on Gresit speak for themselves. She uses her skills to stop people from attack Trevor, protect herself against demons, and even to threaten Alucard. These moments only hinted at the amount of power she would display in the next season.

8 Trevor Handles The Corrupt Priests

Trevor Belmont

When Trevor catches a group of corrupt priests threatening a Speaker, the noble-hearted (albeit grumpy) man can't help but stop to help. Since our last view of Trevor's fighting skills saw him get thrown out of a bar, we weren't sure what to expect from this next encounter.

Imagine our shock and delight when Trevor nimbly sidesteps the surprisingly aggressive priest with a dagger, using momentum and handy whip skills to throw him aside. And things took a turn for the grisly (yet still awesome) when Trevor deftly used his whip to flick the priest's eye out of his socket.

7 Attack On The Way To The Belmont Estate

A group of demons attack Trevor, Alucard, and Sypha when they're on their way to the Belmont Manor. The creatures come out of the night to catch the group off guard, but with such fighters as Alucard, Trevor, and Sypha, it was an easy matter for them to finish the luckless demons off. However, this fight felt a tad short-lived, as it only gave us a taste of what a bigger fight including our three heroes could be like. Still, the fact that only one demon survived showcases the skills our heroes displayed in that brief time.

6 Alucard Duels Trevor

This fight scene stood out from all the rest in Castlevania's first season. Alucard tries testing Trevor's skills once he learns he is a member of the Belmont family, and the elegance of this fight cannot be understated. Trevor whirls his whip around to protect himself from Alucard's sword strikes, and the fight feels evenly matched. And when Trevor loses his whip and has to use his sword instead, the tension is ramped up to unbelievable levels.

5 Trevor Battles The Cyclops

Sent to look for a missing member of the Speakers (Sypha), Trevor discovers there is a Cyclops living underneath Gresit, in the bowels of the city. What follows is a titanic battle between Trevor and the monster. The Cyclops unleashes bright beams from its single eye that turns its victims into stone. (This is what stopped Sypha from tackling the Cyclops herself.) Trevor shows off his acrobatic skills as he dodges, jukes, and dives his way to victory.

4 Clearing The Belmont Library Of Demons

Trevor Belmont ready to fight in Castlevania.

Fans of the series were thrilled when Trevor Belmont discovered the Morning Star in the Belmont family's library. This vampire-killing, metal whip looks like a beast. We couldn't wait for him to put it to good use, and we didn't have to wait for long.

When Hector's army of demons attacked the library, Trevor demolished the lot of them with this awe-inspiring weapon. It blasted the foul monsters apart with each strike.

3 The War Against Wallachia

Dracula on fire Castlevania

Dracula's war against Wallachia isn't so much a fight as it is a slaughter. Still, it set the stage for the kind of tone that Netflix's Castlevania would maintain for both of its two seasons. The gruesome nature of Dracula's army and the merciless way he set them upon humans shocked viewers. At the same time, this clearly one-sided fight established the grave threat Dracula posed to humanity. In the very first episode, we knew what our prospective heroes would go up against.

2 Main Hall Brawl

Though we had been anticipating Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard storming Dracula's castle for many episodes, we were not prepared for the sheer awesomeness that followed when they entered the main hall. The three friends had to go up against vampires primed to fight, monsters made to murder. And with Alucard's floating sword, Trevor's deadly whip, and Sypha's incredible magic, our heroes prevailed. They made short work of Dracula's fellow vampires, but the fight was still thrilling to behold.

1 Alucard, Sypha, And Trevor Vs. Dracula

The fight to end all fights in the series, the trio's battle with Dracula was nerve-wracking. Despite the odds being three-against-one, Dracula was a mighty foe. He could wipe just one of the three out with a wave of his hands. It was only by throwing everything they had against him that Alucard, Sypha, and Trevor eventually won out. Add to that the very emotional nature of Alucard's fight with his own father, and a layer of depth was added to this battle that was missing from the others. No other fight in the series (so far) can top the intense conflict between Trevor, Sypha, Alucard, and Dracula.
