As a WWE Superstar, Big Show has enjoyed a decorated career spanning more than a quarter of a century. His career as a sitcom leading man, however, lasted just one season, as Netflix announced its decision to cancel The Big Show Show, ending the multi-camera comedy's run after eight episodes.
Fans of the sitcom will have the opportunity to get one last look at the show in December during the holiday season when it airs a Christmas special, which was taped prior to the pandemic.
The Big Show Show featured the superstar seven-footer known outside of the ring as Paul Wight starring as a fictionalized version of himself, a retired professional wrestler overmatched in a household with his wife and three daughters. The show also starred Alison Munn as the Big Show's wife and Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld and Lily Brooks O’Briant as his three daughters.
Professional wrestling stood as the main theme throughout the Netflix series, playing a large role in the plot of each episode. In addition to featuring Wight as the central character, the WWE Studios-produced show featured cameo appearances by wrestling legends Mick Foley, Rikishi and Mark Henry.
While the sitcom is coming to an end, the series will remain available to stream on Netflix. The release date for the show's Christmas special has yet to be announced.
