Netflix's live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender is still a while away from release, but according to some of the show's stars, it is shaping up to be a project that will satisfy fans of the animated show. In fact, actor Yvonne Chapman recently said it is 'phenomenal.'

In an interview with Everything Zen ExtraZ, Chapman said, "I can't say very much for this project, but I will say: from what I've seen, and my experience on the show, the fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender will not be disappointed with this live-action series. It looks phenomenal."

In addition, the actor discussed playing Avatar Kyoshi, one of Avatar Aang's past incarnations, and how enthusiastic she was about playing the character. She revealed she has even read the Kyoshi novels written by F.C. Yee and series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino. Chapman said, "Her backstory and just everything about this character is so beautifully written and really thoughtful. She just has one of the most fascinating stories of any character that I've read, so I definitely felt the pressure of being able to bring her to life and hopefully the fans respond in a really positive way. Luckily it's not just me at the helm, it's a team of people really wanting to get this right, and I hope we did. I think we did."

While none of the live-action show's cast have yet appeared in costume, photos from the set of the Avatar adaptation in Vancouver, British Columbia, recently surfaced. The images show green screens and what appears to be a section of wall and gates of a fortress.
