Netflix has released the first full trailer for Zack Snyder's upcoming zombie film Army of the Dead.

The trailer features the human characters fighting a literal army of intelligent and organized zombies throughout Las Vegas, including in casinos and on the strip. It then ends with a shot of a white tiger zombie, showing that even animals can become infected in the film.

"It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it's genre-on-genre in a great way," Snyder said of Army of the Dead in January. "So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent." However, he also noted that "It's going to surprise people that there's a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters."

Snyder also explained that the film's zombie plague "does come from Area 51 -- that's in the film's opening scene -- and then the whole cast is in the animated series, along with Christian Slater as the bad guy. We really do a super deep dive on where this like zombie plague came from."

Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Army of the Dead stars Dave Bautista, Garret Dillahunt, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Raul Castillo, Tig Notaro, Theo Rossi and Ana de la Reguera. The film arrives on Netflix May 21.
