Last year saw the premiere of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events television adaptation, based on the popular book franchise by Daniel Handler (under the pen name Lemony Snicket). A second season was announced not long after the first arrived, and now a release date for Season 2 has been revealed: March 30. Along with the release date came the first teaser.
The second season of Unfortunate Events will reunite viewers with the orphaned Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire as they avoid their evil Uncle Olaf, who wants nothing more than to off the children and collect their vast inheritance.
This time, the middle five books of the series will be brought to the screen. Those are The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital and The Carnivorous Carnival. Just like the first season, each book will be done in two or three episode chunks. The final four books will be adapted for the third season, which currently has no release date.
Debuting on March 30, A Series of Unfortunate Events stars Malina Weissman as Violet, Louis Hynes as Klaus, Presley Smith as Sunny, K. Todd Freeman as Arthur Poe, Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket and Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf.
