Fox is reportedly in talks with Neill Blomkamp ("District 9", "Chappie") to write and direct a film adaptation of the upcoming Sci-fi novel "The Gone World". The book is written by Swedish author Thomas Sweterlitsh, and is described by Deadline as a "Sci-fi time travel procedural."

Considering the studio's decision to postpone Blomkamp's "Alien" sequel, this could mean "The Gone World" is the director's next feature.

Chernin Entertainment, the production company behind "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", is producing "The Gone World" film adaptation for Fox.

Sweterlitsh's previous novel, "Tomorrow And Tomorrow", was acquired by TriStar a couple years back.

No release date has been given for Blomkamp's "The Gone World".
