When Ellen Ripley and Dwayne Hicks return in "Alien 5," they'll have company -- powerful company.

Director Neill Blomkamp has revealed a sneak peek at a slightly modified version of the M41A Pulse Rifle introduced in James Cameron's 1986 sequel "Aliens."

"We all knew there would be pulse rifles. Obviously," Blomkamp wrote on Instagram. "Now with added RIS."  The primary weapon of the Colonial Marines, the updated rifle boasts a laser aiming module and telescopic sight.

Starring Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn, Blomkamp's untitled "Alien" film is targeted for release in 2018.
