IFC Midnight released a teaser trailer for writer/director Neill Blomkamp's upcoming supernatural horror film Demonic.
The clip begins with a woman hooked up to some sort of machine that transports her consciousness to a sinister reality where the repercussions take a toll on her corporeal self. A montage of haunting imagery follows before the woman eventually encounters someone sitting upside down who asks if she knows what this place is.
Demonic was shot in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in mid-2020 and premiered at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival in March 2021. IFC Midnight swiftly picked up the distribution rights.
As for Blomkamp, Demonic is his fourth feature film following Chappie, Elysium and his 2009 breakout movie District 9.

Written and directed by Neill Blomkamp, Demonic stars Carly Pope, Chris William Martin, Andrea Agur and Nathalie Boltt. The film arrives in theaters, Digital HD and video on demand Aug. 20.
